PERTH, Australia, June 26 (Xinhua) -- A Terracotta Warriors exhibition was launched with an opening ceremony and a special preview at the Western Australian (WA) Museum Boola Bardip in Perth on Wednesday.
Over 200 ancient Chinese artefacts are displayed in the exhibition titled "Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor," most of which have never been shown in Australia before, and nearly half have never left China before.
Multimedia digital technology accompanies the experience to enrich the story of the Terracotta Warriors and reveal their extraordinary scale and artistry.
The exhibition will formally open to the public from June 28, 2025 to Feb. 22 2026.
Guest exhibition curator Tonia Eckfeld said the exhibition offers an immersive, imaginative, informative, and interactive experience, designed to engage visitors of all ages and knowledge levels.
"It stands as a compelling example of cultural cooperation between Australia and China," WA Museum CEO Alec Coles said.
WA Minister for Creative Industries Simone McGurk said the exhibition will deepen the understanding of Chinese history while strengthening cultural ties with China, an indispensable trading partner for Australia, and especially for Western Australia.
"Civilizations thrive through exchange and mutual learning," Chinese Consul-General in Perth Long Dingbin said. "I am confident this exhibition will deepen Sino-Australian cultural bonds, advance global dialogue and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity."
The exhibition was collaboratively developed by the WA Museum, Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration, Shaanxi Cultural Heritage Promotion Center and Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum.
